MANILA — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) is actively tracing the alleged co-perpetrators of former President Rodrigo Duterte in his ongoing crimes against humanity case before the International Criminal Court (ICC), related to his administration’s war on drugs.
At a press briefing, DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla said that although the names of alleged co-conspirators have been released, no arrest warrants have been issued against them so far.
“We are all aware na mayroon nang pinangalanan na co-conspirator. But wala pang warrant of arrest so wala kaming actionable document,” Remulla said.
He added that authorities are already monitoring the whereabouts of those named, except for one individual who has passed away, to be prepared in case legal action becomes necessary.
According to Remulla, two of Duterte’s alleged co-perpetrators are believed to be in the United States. “We are getting all the records. We should have them by this week. I think two are abroad. Dalawa nasa Amerika. I’ll get you the full details next week,” he said.
Based on a redacted document released by the ICC prosecutor, the alleged co-perpetrators include:
- Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa
- Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go
- Vitaliano Aguirre II
- Vicente Danao
- Camilo Cascolan (deceased)
- Oscar Albayalde
- Dante Gierran
- Isidro Lapeña
Remulla emphasized that tracing their locations is a preparatory step, as no formal arrest actions can be taken without issued warrants.
