MANILA — The Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges will hold an executive session on Wednesday, March 4, to start reviewing complaints filed before the panel, Senator JV Ejercito said.
Ejercito, chairman of the committee, said Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III approved the use of the Senate President’s Conference Room at 10 a.m. due to the unavailability of regular committee rooms, allowing the meeting to proceed without delay.
“Executive Session among members agenda is adoption of rules and we will proceed to initial vetting of cases,” Ejercito told reporters.
He reiterated that the committee will hear complaints in the order they were filed.
“Of course, just like in any proseso, first in, first out. Hindi naman pwedeng gusto nila mauna ‘yung isa, pwedeng unahin. So first in, first out. Kung ano ‘yung unang nai-file, then we will hear that first,” Ejercito said.
(Of course, just like in any process, it’s first in, first out. We can’t hear whatever they want to go first. It’s first in, first out. Whatever was filed first, then we will hear that first.)
A new complaint has been filed against Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa over his continued absence from the Senate. Ejercito said this marks the sixth complaint currently pending before the committee.
