MANILA — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) aims to complete the canvassing of the March 14 special elections in Antipolo City’s 2nd District within 36 hours.

“Subject to reasonable exceptions, the DBOC (District Board of Canvassers) must complete its canvass within 36 hours from the time it initially convened,” Comelec en banc Resolution 11197 read.

“Upon completion of the canvass, the DBOC shall announce the result of the special elections.”

The DBOC is scheduled to convene at 6 p.m. on March 14 at the Ynares Event Center to receive election returns and begin canvassing. Canvassers are expected to work continuously until the process is completed, with breaks allowed only while awaiting remaining returns.

The proceedings are open to the public. The district has 252,793 registered voters across eight barangays, 348 clustered precincts, and 36 voting centers.
