MANILA — The nine alleged security escorts of vlogger Norman Mangusin, also known as Francis Leo Marcos, are not licensed practitioners, and a firearm registered under his name has expired, the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) said Friday.

In a statement, NAPOLCOM vice chairperson Rafael Vicente Calinisan said the Commission “received confirmation from the PNP Civil Security Group that all nine of Mangusin’s ‘security’ escorts… are NOT licensed security practitioners,” adding that they are “performing security functions for Mangusin illegally.”

Calinisan also noted that a Glock pistol registered to a “Francis Leo Antonio Marcos” expired in September 2017, making it a loose firearm. “Continuing to keep it constitutes the crime of unlawful possession of firearm,” he said.

The Commission will forward the information to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) to support ongoing investigations and potential prosecution. “We will put a stop to Mangusin and all his fraudulent schemes. We will not allow any Filipino to be victimized by Mangusin ever again,” Calinisan added.

Mangusin was arrested Tuesday by the PNP-CIDG in a Pasay City hotel in connection with an unjust vexation case, with bail recommended at P120,000. Authorities also cited his alleged use of multiple names, passports, and birth certificates, and unauthorized use of a police uniform.

On Friday, Mangusin was transferred from Camp Crame in Quezon City to Parañaque City jail following a court commitment order. Earlier, former senator and boxing icon Manny Pacquiao said he would file multiple complaints against Mangusin for allegedly spreading false information and deceiving the public.
