MANILA — Socialite and actress Heart Evangelista experienced a frightening robbery while in Paris with her mother, Cecilia Pawayal-Ongpauco, showbiz journalist Ogie Diaz reported.

During an episode of his Showbiz Update video series, Diaz described a blind item involving a “fashionistang actress” whose Paris apartment was burglarized last month. He said the doors and windows may not have been fully secured, allowing an intruder to break in.

The incident became more harrowing as Heart and her mother were in the same room, with Heart holding her mother’s hand to keep her calm. An alarm eventually startled the burglar, who only took the actress’s bag containing a semi-precious stone, Diaz said.

“Sobrang in shock yung mommy habang kalmado naman si aktres, parang grace under pressure kasi pag titili ka baka saksakin ka na lang,” Diaz added, noting that both women locked eyes with the intruder.

Diaz later confirmed the blind item referred to Heart and Cecilia, who were in Paris for Paris Fashion Week.

Earlier this month, at the media launch of the second season of her reality show Heart World on GMA Network, Heart alluded to a traumatic incident involving her and her mother.

“I’m not very sure yet if I’m ready to speak about it but it’s in the works, something really bad happened to my mom and I,” she said, glancing at Cecilia. Heart described the event as “sobrang traumatizing” and said it would be featured in the later portions of the upcoming season.

Season 2 of Heart World is set to premiere on GMA Network on March 7. Last month’s Paris Fashion Week marked Heart’s return to international fashion events, where she attended shows for brands such as Hermès, Schiaparelli, and Kenzo, and took a photo with Miss Universe 2015 runner-up Ariadna Gutiérrez during the Georges Hoebika L’AmourSpring/Summer 2026 show.
