MANILA — Mynt, the parent company of GCash, on Thursday cautioned the public against a fraudulent sale of its shares circulating on social media.

In an advisory, the fintech firm said it has not authorized any public offering of its shares and warned that posts claiming to offer “early access” or “pre-sale” of its shares are fraudulent.

“Mynt has not made any official filings with the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission or Philippine Stock Exchange about a planned sale of its shares to the investing public,” the company said.

“If Mynt undertakes any offering of securities in the future, it will do so in accordance with applicable laws and regulations,” the advisory added.

The company urged the public to remain vigilant, avoid clicking suspicious links, and not share personal information or funds with unauthorized entities.

Mynt also encouraged reporting of suspicious investment schemes through the GCash Help Center in the app, via “Gigi” on the GCash website, or directly to the SEC Enforcement and Investor Protection Department.
