MANILA—Filipino-American pop star Olivia Rodrigo lent her voice to a charity project with a moving music video filmed from the perspective of children living in war-torn countries.
Rodrigo covered The Magnetic Fields’ song “The Book of Love” for the collaborative album “Help(2)”, produced by War Child UK, an organization dedicated to protecting, educating, and advocating for children affected by conflict.
The music video features clips of children in Palestine, Sudan, Ukraine, and Yemen, showing them running through rubble and playing together despite the harsh conditions. All proceeds from the album go directly to supporting War Child UK’s initiatives.
Other artists contributing to the album include Arctic Monkeys, Beabadoobee, Wet Leg, Depeche Mode, among others.
Olivia’s last album, “Guts” (2023), featured singles such as “Bad Idea Right?”, “Vampire”, and “Get Him Back!”. She recently toured the Philippines for the first time, exploring Intramuros and enjoying a traditional boodle fight with local fans.
Rodrigo is currently working on new music while continuing her advocacy through projects like “Help(2).”
