MANILA — Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, Education Secretary Sonny Angara, and Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III will act as the Philippines’ caretakers while President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is on a work visit to the United States, Palace officials announced.
Presidential spokesman Undersecretary Claire Castro said Marcos departed earlier today and is expected to remain in the U.S. until Wednesday, March 11.
Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) spokesperson Angelica Escalona added that Marcos’ trip to New York will include high-level United Nations meetings, where he is set to provide a regional perspective and call for restraint, respect for international law, and adherence to the UN Charter amid ongoing global conflicts.
