MANILA — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has processed almost 3 million voter registration applications for the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE), the commission said Tuesday.

As of March 7, a total of 2,875,807 applications had been processed nationwide, with 1,499,398 female applicants and 1,376,409 male applicants.

CALABARZON led the regions with the highest number of applications at 501,212, followed by Central Luzon with 333,038, and the National Capital Region with 298,906.

Regions with fewer than 100,000 applications included MIMAROPA (91,653), CARAGA (85,238), Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (51,030), and Cordillera Administrative Region (38,891).

Voter registration resumed on October 20, 2025, and will continue until May 18, 2026. The BSKE is scheduled for November 2, 2026.
