MANILA — The Philippine government has set aside P20.78 million this year to support its bid for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations (UN) Security Council, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro

“Sa lahat ng klase ng pangangampaniya para po maipakita ng ating Pangulo na tayo po ay interesado na magkaroon ng non-permanent seat sa UN Security Council,” Castro said.

(This will be used in all forms of campaigning so that the President can show how interested we are in acquiring a non-permanent seat in the UN Security Council.)

The Philippines is seeking a seat for the 2027–2028 term, with elections scheduled for June 3, 2026. The budget will fund campaign activities to promote the country’s candidacy and engagement with other UN member states.
