MANILA — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is set to release a decision on Senator Rodante Marcoleta’s May 2025 statement of contributions and expenditures (SOCE) this Wednesday, according to Chairperson George Garcia.

“Medyo mainit ang aming balitaktakan diyan sa en banc. Ngayong Miyerkules, asahan na magkakaroon ng desisyon ang komisyon,” Garcia told Super Radyo dzBB on Sunday.
(We have an intense discussion regarding it at the en banc. By Wednesday, we expect the commission to reach a decision.)

The case has faced “complications” after the Office of the Ombudsman referred a related complaint to Comelec, questioning both Marcoleta’s SOCE and his statement of assets, liabilities, and net worth (SALN).

According to his SOCE, Marcoleta reported spending P139.9 million on his 2025 senatorial campaign, far exceeding his declared SALN of P51,965,559, while reporting zero donations.

“Inaalam pa namin kung ‘yung issues na na-raise ay parehas na parehas dun sa aming iniimbestigahan,” Garcia said.
(We’re looking if the issues raised are similar to the case we’re investigating.)

Marcoleta had previously admitted that he did not declare contributions he received for the May 2025 elections in his SOCE, stating that his donors requested anonymity.
