MANILA — Fixed broadband and technology provider Converge ICT said it plans to roll out nearly 1 million additional ports this year, focusing on expanding internet access in the Visayas and Mindanao.
CEO and co-founder Dennis Uy said during an online briefing on Friday that the company aims to strengthen port utilization, which rose to 37 percent by the end of 2025 due to strong demand for FiberX plans and the low-cost postpaid BIDA Fiber.
“With over a thousand municipalities in the country, we aim to add 600 to 700 more, including the second and third class municipalities in Mindanao,” Uy said. “We’re trying to penetrate them because this is the market segment, especially for the prepaid segment… So, that’s our focus — so each Philippine home can be connected through us.”
Converge reported a 10.2-percent rise in consolidated revenues for 2025, reaching PHP44.8 billion, up from PHP40.6 billion in 2024. Growth was driven by a 20.3-percent increase in enterprise revenue to PHP7.4 billion and an 8.4-percent rise in residential revenue to PHP37.3 billion. Net income rose 9.6 percent to PHP11.9 billion.
The company has earmarked PHP23 billion in capital expenditure for 2026 and targets 8 to 10 percent growth in consolidated revenues.
COO Benjamin Azada said the firm will expand in Visayas and Mindanao, including provinces such as Capiz, Samar, Bukidnon, Davao de Oro, and Sultan Kudarat. He noted that more than half of Converge’s revenues currently come from Luzon
