MANILA — The Department of Transportation announced that expressway operators will voluntarily implement a two-month toll discount for public utility vehicles (PUVs), public utility buses (PUBs), and freight trucks starting March 23, 2026.

According to a DOTr statement, Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez said Toll Regulatory Board Executive Director Jay Art Tugade confirmed that tollway concessionaires “expressed that they will voluntarily implement a temporary toll discount for essential transport sectors.”

The reprieve comes amid rising fuel prices caused by supply constraints linked to the Middle East crisis. The DOTr said the two-month discount may be extended depending on further review.

Discounted toll rates, to be applied across major expressways, include:

Class 1 – PUVs (jeepneys, modernized jeepneys)

  • NLEX (open system): P79 (from P85), savings P6
  • NLEX (closed system): P337 (from P355), savings P10
  • SLEX (Alabang-Calamba): P116 (from P126), savings P10
  • SLEX (Calamba-Sto. Tomas): P31 (from P34), savings P3
  • STAR (Sto. Tomas-Lipa): P55 (from P60), savings P5
  • STAR (Lipa-Batangas): P49 (from P53), savings P4

Class 2 – PUBs

  • NLEX (open system): P199 (from P211), savings P12
  • NLEX (closed system): P840 (from P887), savings P47
  • SLEX (Alabang-Calamba): P232 (from P253), savings P21
  • SLEX (Calamba-Sto. Tomas): P63 (from P68), savings P5

The DOTr said discounts will be applied as weekly rebates credited to qualified vehicles.
