MANILA—Comedienne Tuesday Vargas clapped back at netizens who shamed her for hosting a bingo event, asserting that her work deserves respect and that she is doing it with dignity.

In a Facebook post, Vargas highlighted that 208 people reacted positively to her previous post and shared screenshots of some of the critical comments. She said many hotel guests, including moms, personally thanked her for making them laugh and motivating her to keep going.

“Pero imbes na masaya kayo para sa akin, nakuha niyo pa akong libakin at pagtawanan?” she wrote. She questioned why people would feel ashamed of her work, stressing that dignity in her profession matters more than online judgment.

Vargas also noted that she is a mother working hard for her family: “Nanay ako at paparaan ako para sa mga mahal ko, kaya kayo na pinagtatawanan ako ang masasabi ko ay WALA KAYONG 100k! Hahaha.”

She recalled that her first hosting job—bingo—helped her cover college expenses for materials and transportation: “Dahil sa pagsigaw ng B-11 ay natawid ko ang mahal na kurso.” She emphasized that no work done with dignity should be belittled.

Earlier this year, Vargas appealed for work via social media, calling on industry creatives to hire her. She has since hosted children’s parties, performed on a cruise ship, and continues to host “The Tuesday Vargas Podcast.” She also works as a live seller of luxury items and sings for the band The Bloomfields.

“I asked nicely and with dignity. I was not looking for a handout, but instead an opportunity to use my skills that will produce income,” Vargas said, reflecting on her approach to building her career despite criticism.

Her message is clear: respect the hustle, no matter the platform or the stage.
