MANILA – The National Bureau of Investigation – National Capital Region (NBI–NCR) has launched an investigation into a complaint involving the alleged незакон transfer of agrarian lands in Bataan.
Authorities said around 15 to 20 farmer-complainants are currently at the NBI–NCR office to execute their sworn statements and submit documents related to the case.
The complaint claims that parcels of land covered by Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOAs) were transferred to a private corporation allegedly involved in Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO). The firm is also reportedly linked to several personalities, including former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, without securing the required clearance from the Department of Agrarian Reform.
Initial findings also point to possible falsification of documents used in the processing and transfer of land titles, raising concerns over the legitimacy of the transactions.
The NBI–NCR said it is conducting a comprehensive case build-up to determine whether probable cause exists and to identify individuals who may face criminal charges.
The bureau assured the public that the probe will be carried out impartially and in accordance with laws protecting agrarian reform beneficiaries.
