MANILA — The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) is expecting about 6.5 million passengers across the 44 commercial airports it operates during the Holy Week, spokesperson Eric Apolonio said.
The passenger volume is projected from March 28 to April 5, reflecting an annual increase of seven to 10 percent. Last year, Holy Week travel saw an 18 percent jump, reaching six million passengers from 5.1 million in 2024.
Peak season preparations
As part of holiday travel preparations, low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific advised passengers to verify itineraries and terminal assignments. Starting March 29, all flights of its subsidiaries, Cebgo and AirSWIFT, operating to and from Manila will be moved to Clark.
Passengers are reminded to arrive at least three hours before domestic flights and four hours before international flights. Check-in counters close 45 minutes prior to domestic departures and one hour before international flights.
Cebu Pacific also encouraged passengers to check in via its mobile app or website to avoid long lines. For electronic devices, phones, laptops, and tablets must be in carry-on baggage. Power banks with 100Wh–160Wh capacity require approval at check-in counters.
CAAP continues to coordinate with airlines to ensure safe and efficient operations during the peak travel period.
