MANILA – The Bureau of Customs (BOC) declared a failed bidding for the auction of 11 high-end vehicles after no participants submitted bids.

The announcement was made by the agency’s Auction Committee during proceedings held at the Situation Room of the Office of the Commissioner building in Port Area, Manila.

Lawyer Jann Obillos, who heads the committee, cited Customs Administrative Order No. 03-2020, which provides that an auction must be declared unsuccessful if no bids are received.

“I, together with the members of the Auction Committee present today, hereby declared this public auction failed due to the absence of registered bidders,” Obillos said.

Despite the development, the BOC said it has already set another schedule for the sale.

“For your information, the next public auction for the luxury vehicles will be on April 28,” Obillos said.

Among the units offered in the auction were a 2021 Rolls-Royce Cullinan, 2021 Bentley Continental, 2023 Mercedes-Benz S680 Maybach, 2023 BMW X6, and 2021 Jeep Wrangler.

Also included were a 2019 Lexus ES, 2024 Ferrari SF90 Stradale Mansory, 2023 Rolls-Royce Phantom, 2022 Mercedes-Benz G650 V12 Bi-Turbo, 2024 BMW XM, and 2018 Lexus LX570.

The agency is aiming to raise around PHP200 million from the sale of the vehicles.
