MANILA – Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan shared a preview of an upcoming podcast episode featuring fellow Senators Erwin Tulfo and Win Gatchalian, offering a glimpse of their off-duty camaraderie during the Senate recess.

The episode was filmed at Alvarez Park Cafe in Valenzuela City, where the three lawmakers gathered for a casual conversation away from their legislative work on energy and food-related issues.

Pangilinan and Tulfo recalled their earlier careers in media, having crossed paths at ABS-CBN in the 1990s as a news anchor and reporter, respectively.

“Parang reunion,” Pangilinan said, referring to their renewed collaboration in the Senate.

“Iba lang ang setting,” Tulfo replied.

The gathering also featured a meal hosted by Gatchalian, a Valenzuela native, who highlighted local dishes and ensured there were seafood and vegetable options in line with Pangilinan’s advocacy for agricultural reforms.

The senators also shared their personal routines, with Gatchalian mentioning his daily workouts, Tulfo noting his interest in running and walking, and Pangilinan saying he maintains brisk walks and consumes “siling labuyo” as part of efforts to manage his cholesterol.

Toward the end of the preview, Pangilinan surprised Gatchalian with an advance birthday treat ahead of his 52nd birthday on April 6.

The full episode of “Kikonek: The Kiko Pangilinan Podcast” featuring Tulfo and Gatchalian will be released on Pangilinan’s YouTube and Spotify channels after Holy Week.

Pangilinan said the podcast is part of his efforts to engage Filipinos on key national issues through social media while continuing to pursue his legislative agenda on agriculture and social justice.
