MANILA — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has approved a request from the Yanson Group of Bus Companies to grant a 10% discount to passengers traveling from Good Friday to Easter Sunday.

LTFRB Chair Vigor Mendoza II said the approval falls under Board Resolution 114, series of 2026, covering several bus operations of the group:

• Vallacar Transit, Inc. – Visayas and Mindanao routes
• Bachelor Express – Visayas and Mindanao routes
• Rural Transit Mindanao, Inc., Mindanao Star Bus Transport Inc., Love Transport Express Mindanao – Mindanao operations
• Southern Bus Star, Sugbo Urban Transit, Love Visayas Transport Express – Visayas operations
• Golden Bus Transit and Ceres Transport – nationwide routes

The Yanson Group earlier informed the LTFRB of its plan to temporarily reduce fares “in line with the call for Bayanihan of the national government during the observance of Holy Week.”

The move comes amid double-digit increases in petroleum prices, which have prompted the government to distribute fuel subsidies to the transport sector.

Mendoza said the discount is intended to provide financial relief to travelers during the Holy Week exodus.

“We in the LTFRB recognize and appreciate the benevolent gesture of the Yanson Group of Bus Companies in extending assistance to the riding public,” he added.
