MANILA – The Philippine National Police has sent a specialized unit to investigate the case of an 11-year-old girl from Camarines Sur who sought protection from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. against an allegedly abusive village official.

PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the Women and Children’s Protection Center (WCPC) is handling the case, gathering evidence, and determining possible charges.

“Following the President’s directive, we immediately deployed a specialized team from the WCPC to ensure the safety of the child,” Nartatez said Wednesday.

In a March 30 letter, the girl, under the care of Redeemer Homeless Mission, alleged rape by the official’s son and aide, along with threats and harassment against children. She appealed for protection and the opportunity to continue her schooling, stressing that they have no political ties.

President Marcos expressed anger and emotion upon reading the letter, promising police protection, a full investigation, and support for the victims’ education. He also commended the girl’s courage and assured ongoing government assistance.

“Ang utos ng Pangulo ay malinaw: walang sinasanto ang batas, regardless of their position in the government (The President’s order is clear: no one is above the law, regardless of their position in the government),” Nartatez said.

The PNP chief encouraged other victims to come forward and seek help.
