MANILA — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reminded the public to practice water conservation as the country enters the dry season.

PAGASA officially announced the onset of the warm, dry season on March 23, characterized by lower rainfall and higher heat indices.

In an interview on Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon, PAGASA senior weather specialist Rosalie Pagulayan said that while reservoir levels remain manageable, households should adopt water-saving practices to prepare for reduced rainfall in the coming months.

“Small actions, like checking for leaking pipes and turning off faucets when not in use, can have a significant impact on our overall water resources,” Pagulayan said. “This is not just to reduce water bills, but also to ensure that no water is wasted.”

PAGASA forecasts generally fair weather nationwide during the dry season, with gradually warmer days and occasional isolated thunderstorms. Below-normal rainfall is expected in most parts of the country in April.
