MANILA — Several areas in Bulacan, Pampanga, Quezon City, and Laguna will undergo scheduled power interruptions from April 7 to 12 due to maintenance and upgrade works, the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) said.

In an advisory, Meralco said the temporary outages are needed to carry out line reconstruction, install new facilities, and implement system improvements aimed at ensuring more stable electricity service.

On April 7, from 12:01 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., parts of Candaba in Pampanga and San Ildefonso in Bulacan will be affected. These include portions of Malipampang–Calasag–Calawitan Road from Barangay Malipampang to Barangay Pangclara, along with several puroks, nearby streets, industrial facilities, and Calawitan National High School. The interruption is scheduled for line reconstruction works.

On April 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., portions of Nicanor Ramirez Street in Barangay Don Manuel, Mabuhay area in Quezon City, specifically from Cordillera Street to Sampaloc Seventh-day Adventist Church, will experience outages due to line reconductoring, facility replacement, and installation of lightning protection devices.

Another interruption in Quezon City is set from 11:00 p.m. on April 8 until 5:00 a.m. on April 9, affecting parts of Kamuning Road, 11th Jamboree Street, and nearby areas in Kamuning and Sacred Heart. The activity involves facility replacement and line reconductoring works.

On April 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., portions of Barangay II–Tibag in Calamba City, Laguna, including areas along Tibag Road and nearby subdivisions and sitios, will be affected as Meralco conducts installation and replacement of electrical facilities.

Meanwhile, on April 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with specific intervals, parts of Sta. Maria and Norzagaray in Bulacan will experience outages. Affected areas include sections of Balasing–San Jose Road, nearby residential sitios, industrial parks, and surrounding communities. The work involves the installation of new electrical facilities.

Meralco advised customers in affected areas to prepare in advance and take necessary precautions during the scheduled interruptions.

The company assured that power service will be restored immediately after the completion of maintenance works, adding that the upgrades are part of ongoing efforts to improve reliability and minimize unexpected outages.
