MANILA — More than 3.6 million Filipinos have registered to vote for the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) in November, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) reported.

As of March 31, Comelec said it processed 3,697,800 applications nationwide, exceeding its initial target of 1.4 million. Of the total, 1,911,486 were female and 1,786,314 were male.

Region IV-A (Calabarzon) recorded the highest number of applicants with 610,859, followed by Region III (Central Luzon) with 417,603; the National Capital Region (NCR) with 372,503; and Region VII (Central Visayas) with 219,972.

At the Comelec main office in Intramuros, Manila, 8,732 registrants applied under the Special Register Anywhere Program (SRAP).

Nationwide voter registration for the 2026 BSKE resumed on October 20, 2025, and will continue until May 18, 2026. Applicants may register from Monday to Sunday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at any satellite registration site or their respective Comelec office of the election officer (OEO).

The registration covers all types of applications, including new registration, transfer of records, change of name or status, correction of entries, reactivation or inclusion of registration records, and reinstatement of names in the voters’ list.

Comelec previously said it aims to register 1.4 million new voters for the upcoming elections.

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. signed into law a measure in August postponing the BSKE from December 1, 2025, to the first Monday of November 2026 and setting the elections on a four-year cycle thereafter.
