MANILA — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) exceeded its revenue target for the first quarter of 2026, according to the Department of Finance (DOF).

Based on preliminary figures, the DOF reported that the BOC generated P239.054 billion in collections from January to March, surpassing its target by 1.3% and registering a 3.3% increase compared to the same period last year.

“The Bureau of Customs’ highest-ever first-quarter collection demonstrates that our commitment to reforms, transparency, and accountability is delivering real results,” said Finance Secretary Frederick Go.

“These gains will directly support the government’s priority programs and benefit the Filipino people,” he added.

The DOF attributed the bureau’s performance to coordinated efforts across its ports and subports nationwide, including an intensified drive against illegal trade.

Revenue collections were also boosted by the public auction of seized goods, particularly smuggled luxury vehicles, which were converted into government income.

In addition, the Finance Department cited stronger post-clearance audit operations, which helped improve compliance with customs regulations and ensure proper payment of duties and taxes.

“Every peso we collect helps fund essential services, advance national development, and build a better future for every Filipino,” Go said.
