MANILA — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Friday said the filing of Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) for District Representatives for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Elections has been scheduled for May 5 to May 9, 2026.

The filing period is part of the calendar of activities for the first BARMM Parliamentary Elections (BPE), which is set on Sept. 14, 2026.

During the same period, the poll body said candidates will also file their lists of nominees, Certificates of Acceptance and Nomination, and affidavits of non-affinity for regional parliamentary political parties and coalitions.

The election period will run from July 16 to Sept. 29, 2026. During this period, the carrying of firearms is prohibited, and candidates are barred from using security personnel or bodyguards unless authorized by the Commission.

The Comelec also imposed other restrictions, including the prohibition on altering precinct territories or establishing new precincts, the transfer or detailing of civil service employees, the organization or maintenance of reaction or strike forces, and the suspension of elective local officials without Comelec approval. The illegal release of prisoners is also banned.

Candidates, however, will be allowed to campaign during the designated campaign period.
