MANILA — The group Katseye has directly addressed the controversy surrounding member Manon, whose sudden hiatus sparked backlash and concern among fans.
In an interview on The Zane Lowe Show on Apple Music, leader Sophia said Manon is “doing well” and expressed continued support for her bandmate.
“You know, we’ve gone through so much with each other. At the end of the day, we just all want each other to win. And to be good. And to feel good and to be happy and just, you know, just keep showing up for what we want,” she said.
Member Lara also spoke about Manon, saying, “She’s our sister forever.”
“Like we love her so much and we built this together. So we just want to give her all the space and love she needs right now,” she added.
Katseye recently released their new single “Pinky Up” alongside a music video that did not feature Manon. The group followed the concept closely throughout the video.
They are scheduled to perform at the Coachella on April 10 and April 17.
Reports said Manon will not join the upcoming performances as she remains on hiatus.
Earlier this month, Manon removed Katseye from her Instagram bio but said she remains in positive communication with HYBE and Geffen Records.
“HxG and I are having positive conversations and I feel supported. I’m happy and I’m healthy. I’ll share more soon. Thank you for always being there for me,” she said.
Manon went on hiatus in February.
