MANILA — The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) has launched a nationwide out-of-home advertising campaign aimed at strengthening public awareness of deposit insurance and reinforcing confidence in the country’s financial system.

The initiative forms part of the third year of the agency’s Multimedia Public Awareness Campaign (MPAC), which now includes out-of-home (OOH) installations to highlight the importance of safeguarding savings kept in banks.

The campaign places advertisements in high-traffic and public areas across the country, including major roads in Metro Manila, Cebu City, and Davao City. These materials are also displayed on buses and modern jeepneys, within and around Light Rail Transit (LRT) stations, and in transport hubs such as seaports and airports.

PDIC said the campaign is designed to reach Filipinos in their daily routines—whether commuting, running errands, or traveling—turning these moments into opportunities to promote financial awareness.

According to the agency, the advertisements feature simple and direct messages intended to be easily understood. The materials highlight the role of deposit insurance in protecting savings, using everyday characters such as office workers, small business owners, travelers, and tricycle drivers to make the message more relatable.

The campaign also includes prompts such as “Para saan ang ipon mo?” (What are you saving for?) and “Anong ‘P’ ang nagbibigay proteksyon sa pera mo?” (What ‘P’ provides protection for your money?) to encourage public engagement and reflection on financial security.

Beyond outdoor advertising, the campaign is supported by television and radio commercials, digital promotions, explainer videos, and search engine marketing efforts. Social media content is also being used to amplify key messages and improve access to information on deposit protection.

PDIC said the expanded campaign underscores its commitment to improving financial literacy, strengthening depositor confidence, and ensuring that Filipinos are informed about the protection available for their savings.

Established on June 22, 1963 under Republic Act 3591, the PDIC serves as the country’s state deposit insurer and operates as an attached agency of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
