MANILA — Filipina content creator Mimiyuuuh recently sat down for an exclusive interview with Hollywood stars Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, who headline the upcoming film The Devil Wears Prada 2.

The interview took place in Tokyo, where Mimiyuuuh wore a red dress inspired by a design from fictional designer James Holt featured in the original film The Devil Wears Prada.

During the conversation, Mimiyuuuh asked the actresses about their thoughts on the strong support from the LGBT+ community for both the original movie and its sequel.

“There would be no fashion in the world without the LGBT community,” Streep said.

“Nothing but gratitude and worry about how we’re judged,” she added, followed by a laugh.

Hathaway echoed the sentiment, saying the sequel would not have been possible without that support.

“So much is owed, and we’re so grateful,” she said.

Mimiyuuuh expressed appreciation for the opportunity to meet the two actresses.

“Hindi pa rin po ako makapaniwala na I got the chance to meet these icons in this lifetime,” she said.

Aside from Streep and Hathaway, the sequel will also feature returning cast members Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt, along with Simone Ashley of Bridgerton.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is scheduled for theatrical release on April 29, with part of the film set in Milan.

The original film, based on the 2003 novel by Lauren Weisberger, became a global box-office hit, earning $326.7 million worldwide. A stage musical adaptation featuring music by Elton John premiered in 2022.
