MANILA, Philippines – A third impeachment complaint  against Vice President Sara Duterte seems to be on the way according to House Secretary General Reginald Velasco. 

No further detail was discussed but Velasco confirmed that he was informed that some lawmakers are looking into filing a new case not later than next week. 

“May mga congressman na kumausap sa akin na mayroon daw silang pinag-iisipang i-file or i-endorse. Kaya on hold kami dito, nag-iintay kami…Malalaman natin next week kung itutuloy nila ‘yung complaint na ifa-file nila,” Velasco told reports. 

“We were just informed na standby lang. Baka mag-file kami ng another complaint. So, we respect their decision,” he said.

“I cannot reveal eh. Kasi mayroon kaming agreement na it will remain confidential until they actually endorse or file the complaint,” Velasco noted.

While impeachment complaints are being cooked at the House of Representatives, the Senate meanwhile has no ongoing preparation going yet since nothing has been endorsed to it yet according to Senate President Chiz Escudero. 

He also would not encourage his fellow senators to study this early so as not to project presumptuousness. 

Given the pending workload and the nearing holiday break, Escudero also doubts if congress still has time for an impeachment case nevertheless, the Senate, as mandated by the constitution, will hear any case brought before it, said Escudero.
