MANILA — The Department of Agriculture–National Corn Program (DA–NCP) conducted a five-day workshop on the encoding of fiscal year 2026 targets in the Operations Management Information System (O-MIS) in Cavite from February 23 to 27, 2026.
The activity forms part of the department’s ongoing efforts to digitalize and streamline internal processes. It aimed to train corn coordinators and report officers from Regional Field Offices (RFOs) and Operating Units (OUs) on proper encoding procedures while reinforcing compliance with government auditing rules and standards.
According to DA–NCP, the workshop focused on ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance in reporting through correct data entry and documentation practices.
In his message, DA–NCP Program Director Earl Vincent P. Vegas highlighted the need to ensure that programs designed by corn coordinators are carried out efficiently and delivered to farmers on schedule. He said achieving set targets is crucial in realizing the program’s objectives and extending timely assistance to the agriculture sector.
The O-MIS functions as a centralized system for consolidating physical and financial targets, monitoring real-time accomplishments, and tracking the implementation of various programs and projects nationwide. By integrating regional data, the platform enhances planning, evaluation, and performance monitoring.
DA–NCP said the improved system allows operating units to identify trends, address gaps, and respond promptly to operational requirements through streamlined metrics and integrated analytics. The initiative is also expected to promote greater transparency, accountability, and evidence-based decision-making in regional agricultural programs.
