MANILA — The second season of the HBO series “Heated Rivalry” is scheduled to start filming this summer, with a target premiere set for April 2027, writer and director Jacob Tierney said on “CBS Mornings.”
“I did not know I was going to get a second season, but it’s all happening. We’re writing it now. We’re getting ready to start shooting this summer, and there will be more ‘Heated Rivalry’ on your TVs as, like, truly as soon as humanly possible,” Tierney said.
Executive producer Brendan Brady added, “Like the best parts of this show, just enjoy the yearn.”
Tierney said the show’s strong appeal stems from its romantic focus and central love story, with the series following the evolving relationship of Shane and Ilya amid a hockey rivalry.
Since its October premiere, “Heated Rivalry” has drawn international attention, with lead actors Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie making appearances on television shows and podcasts, debuting as Golden Globes presenters, and serving as Olympic torchbearers.
