MANILA — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) confiscated more than P4 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 72 in a series of anti-drug operations conducted across Metro Manila within a 24-hour period.

In a statement Thursday, the NCRPO said the operations were carried out from 6:00 a.m. on April 1 to 5:59 a.m. on April 2.

Authorities seized 584.95 grams of suspected shabu and 17.56 grams of kush, with a combined estimated value of P4,004,000.

In one of the operations, police arrested two alleged high-value individuals during a buy-bust in Barangay Singkamas, Makati. Around 500 grams of shabu worth P3.4 million were recovered, along with marked money, mobile phones, and drug packaging materials.

Police said the operation disrupted the distribution of a large volume of illegal drugs in Metro Manila.

NCRPO chief Anthony Aberin said the results reflect the effectiveness of their intelligence-driven approach in addressing illegal drugs.

“This successful operation highlights the strength of our intelligence-driven approach. Under the leadership of PNP chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez, NCRPO will continue to hit the heart of the illegal drug trade, taking down drug pushers before they can harm our communities,” Aberin said.

The Philippine National Police said it will sustain intensified anti-drug operations in Metro Manila through enhanced intelligence gathering and coordination among units.

The NCRPO added that its efforts are aimed not only at apprehending street-level suspects but also at dismantling drug networks operating in the region.
