MANILA – The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has apprehended six individuals for alleged involvement in illegal fixing activities during a joint operation conducted on April 8, 2026.

The operation, carried out with the Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS) of Quezon City and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), took place near the LTO Central Office as part of efforts to intensify the campaign against fixers.

Authorities said the six male suspects were caught offering unauthorized assistance in exchange for faster processing of transactions.

Personnel from DPOS issued citation tickets to the individuals for violating Quezon City Ordinance No. SP-1656 Series of 2005, which prohibits fixing activities near government offices.

The suspects were later turned over to the Quezon City DPOS for proper disposition, while the LTO’s Intelligence and Investigation Division conducted profiling and documentation.

The operation forms part of the agency’s enforcement of Republic Act No. 11032, as well as the priority programs of LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao.

“Fixers have no place in the LTO. We will continue to intensify our operations and strictly enforce the law to ensure that our services remain transparent, efficient, and accessible to all,” Lacanilao said.

He also advised the public to transact only with authorized LTO personnel and avoid dealing with fixers to prevent fraud and complications.
