MANILA — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) will hold another public auction for six luxury vehicles on May 7 as part of its continuing disposal of seized assets linked to illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).
In a social media post, the BOC-Port of Manila said the auction through sealed bidding will be conducted at 10 a.m. at the conference room of its Prefab Building in Port Area.
The vehicles up for auction include a 2019 Lexus ES, 2021 Jeep Wrangler, 2023 BMW X6, 2023 Mercedes-Benz S680 Maybach, 2022 Bentley Continental, and a 2021 Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
A public viewing for interested bidders is scheduled on May 4 and 5 at the BOC-Manila grounds.
The agency earlier said it is targeting earnings of about PHP69.8 million based on floor prices for the vehicles.
During its previous auction on April 28, only one unit—a 2023 Rolls-Royce Phantom—was sold for PHP25.5 million out of 12 luxury vehicles offered.
The BOC said the assets are connected to illegal POGO operations.
The bureau also recently declared a failed negotiated sale of 21 vehicles, including luxury units previously seized from contractor couple Pacifico and Sarah Discaya, after two bidders were disqualified due to technical issues.
The vehicles included four units from the Discayas, such as two GMC Denali vehicles, a Maserati Levante, and a Cadillac Escalade.
The BOC said another round of negotiated sale for the remaining units may be scheduled next month.
