MANILA — The Philippine National Police (PNP) said over the weekend that 31 most wanted persons were arrested in a series of 24-hour operations conducted across several regions in the country.
In a news release, the PNP said the operations began at 8 a.m. on May 1 and were carried out in Metro Manila, Ilocos, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Bicol, Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga, alongside security operations for Labor Day-related activities.
Authorities said those arrested included individuals with pending warrants for serious offenses such as rape, murder, sexual assault, trafficking in persons, syndicated estafa, carnapping, robbery with homicide, and illegal drugs.
PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the results demonstrate that police operations continue even amid full deployment for public events.
“Habang naka-focus tayo sa Labor Day security, tuloy ang paghahabol natin sa mga wanted person. Hindi humihinto ang serbisyo ng PNP,” he said.
The PNP said the operations are aligned with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to strengthen peace and order while ensuring lawful and rights-based policing across the country.
