MANILA – Cash remittances sent by overseas Filipinos amounted to USD2.87 billion in March, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas said.

Based on data released by the central bank, land-based overseas Filipino workers accounted for USD2.26 billion of the total remittances during the month, while sea-based workers contributed USD0.61 billion.

For the first quarter of the year, cash remittances rose by 2.8 percent to USD8.68 billion, up from USD8.44 billion recorded from January to March 2025.

The United States remained the top source of remittances during the three-month period, contributing 39.9 percent of the total. It was followed by Singapore with 7.6 percent and Saudi Arabia with 6.3 percent.

Personal remittances, which include cash sent through banks and informal channels as well as remittances in kind, reached USD3.20 billion in March 2026.

On a cumulative basis, personal remittances also increased by 2.8 percent to USD9.66 billion, compared to USD9.40 billion in the same period last year.
