MANILA – The Commission on Elections is aiming to proclaim all winners in the Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections within two days after the Sept. 14 polls.

Speaking during the Kapihan sa Manila Bay forum, Comelec Chairperson George Garcia said the poll body hopes to initially proclaim the winning district representatives in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao’s 32 parliamentary districts on election night.

“As much as we want to, we would like to proclaim the elected parliamentary district representatives in the 32 parliamentary districts on the night of Sept. 14,” Garcia said.

He added that the commission is targeting the proclamation of the remaining winners in the region by Sept. 16.

“I hope we can do that, in at least two days we can proclaim all those who are eligible throughout the Bangsamoro so that they can elect a chief minister,” he said.

Aside from the 32 district representatives, voters in the Bangsamoro region will also elect 40 party representatives and eight sectoral representatives.

During the same forum, Garcia said the Comelec is planning to begin printing official ballots for the Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections in the first week of July at the National Printing Office.

He said the ballots will measure 27 inches long.

“We will start printing first week of July, at the NPO (National Printing Office). We are looking to finish printing by third week of July and start the deployment in the first week of August,” Garcia added.

Garcia also said the automated counting machines supplied by Miru Systems are currently undergoing testing at the company’s warehouse in Biñan, Laguna.

The same machines were used during the May 2025 midterm elections.

“Later on, we will have a mock election and we will also conduct hardware acceptance tests,” he said.
