MANILA — Vice President Sara Duterte has until Monday, June 1, to submit her answer to the Articles of Impeachment, according to a media advisory issued by the Office of the Senate Secretary.

The advisory said Duterte may file her answer from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. either personally, through legal counsel, or via electronic mail.

If the answer is filed personally or through counsel, official documentation of the filing will be handled exclusively by the Senate Public Relations and Information Bureau (PRIB). Photographs and video footage may later be made available to members of the media through PRIB, subject to approval.

To facilitate media coverage, the Senate designated the Quezon and Tolentino Rooms on the second floor of the Senate as media holding and coverage areas for the filing.

The advisory stated that should the Vice President or members of her legal team decide to address the media, they will be escorted to the designated rooms for press briefings or media interactions.

For security and operational reasons, media access will be limited to the second floor of the Senate building. Access to the Office of the Senate Secretary on the sixth floor, where the answer will be received and processed, will be restricted to authorized officials of the impeachment court and members of Duterte’s legal team.

The Senate also directed media personnel not to conduct interviews in hallways, corridors, elevators, stairwells, and other access points within the Senate premises to ensure the orderly and uninterrupted conduct of the filing process.

Any interaction between the Vice President or her legal team and the media must take place only in the designated coverage areas, the advisory added.

All media personnel are required to wear agency-issued identification cards at all times, with a strict “No ID, No Entry” policy to be enforced.

The Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms has been instructed to ensure compliance with the guidelines.

According to the advisory, the arrangements are intended to ensure the orderly, secure, and efficient processing of Duterte’s answer while allowing media organizations to cover the event. It also cited limited space within the Senate premises and the expected number of media representatives as reasons for the restrictions.
