MANILA – The Philippine National Police (PNP) said it has received information on the possible location of Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa and is continuing efforts to track him down and effect his arrest.

In a report, it said that Police Major General Robert Alexander Morico II, chief of the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), said authorities are validating incoming information and pursuing all available leads.

“It’s an operational undertaking which I cannot reveal. But of course, we have leads. Kasama po doon sa manhunt ‘yung pag-identify rin ng mga tao na tumulong sa kanya,” Morico said in a press briefing.

He added that the investigation also includes identifying individuals who may have assisted the senator.

“All information that is coming in is being validated. There will be no stone left unturned,” he said.

Morico also said authorities believe the senator may still have access to communication channels, but stressed this is also part of the ongoing probe.

“I guess kasi alam mo naman ‘yung technology po ngayon. Ang pakikipag-usap naman po sa tao, hindi naman ibig sabihin tumutulong ka na. That’s why we are investigating,” he said.

The CIDG chief declined to disclose details of the senator’s possible location, citing operational security.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) earlier confirmed that it had issued an arrest warrant for Dela Rosa in connection with killings linked to the previous administration’s war on drugs.

The senator left the Senate building on May 14 after a reported period under the chamber’s protective custody. Authorities said tracker teams have been deployed as part of the manhunt.
