MANILA — Senator Bam Aquino called on members of the Senate majority bloc to return to the plenary session and resume work on pending measures, as the chamber prepares to adjourn sine die.

Aquino made the appeal after the majority bloc failed to attend session for two consecutive days, which disrupted deliberations on several legislative measures and other Senate business.

With only one session day remaining, Aquino said senators have a shared duty to the public regardless of political differences.

He urged colleagues to return to the Senate floor and continue their work for the public.

Aquino acknowledged differences among senators but said these should not prevent them from fulfilling their mandate.

“Maraming pagkakaiba sa ating mga kapwa senador; iba’t ibang pananaw, at iba’t ibang pinanggagalingan. Minsan magkatunggali at maraming beses ding may alitan,” Aquino said.

He stressed that senators must remain focused on passing measures and carrying out their responsibilities to the public.
