MANILA — Budget carrier Cebu Pacific has partnered with De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde to open internship opportunities for deaf students, the airline said.

The initiative, formalized through a memorandum of agreement between Cebu Pacific and the college’s School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS), aims to provide hands-on training and practical exposure within airline operations.

“We’re excited to welcome our students from DLS-CSB to Cebu Pacific and learn alongside them. Internships are often a person’s first step into the workforce, and we want that experience to be meaningful, supportive, and empowering,” Felix Lopez, Cebu Pacific chief human resources officer, said in a statement.

Lopez said the partnership is intended to create more opportunities for deaf professionals and encourage organizations to recognize the value of diverse talent in the workplace.

Under the program, SDEAS interns are assigned to the customer service operations–cabin operations team, where they will assist in day-to-day functions while gaining exposure to the aviation industry.

The interns are required to complete 360 hours of on-the-job training, which will run until Aug. 14, 2026.

Prior to deployment, Cebu Pacific employees also underwent a deaf awareness session facilitated by SDEAS to prepare for the program.
