MANILA — Vice President Sara Duterte said she has no intention of overthrowing the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., stressing that she is bound by her oath to uphold the Constitution.

In a report, she clarified that she is not involved in any extra-constitutional actions to remove the current administration.

“Wala sa aking mga kamay ang pagsasagawa ng extra constitutional means to overthrow the current administration. At hindi ko din gusto ‘yun. Hindi ko gusto agawin ‘yung posisyon ni Bongbong Marcos,” she said in an interview in Davao City.

Duterte added that she does not want to take over the presidency.

She also addressed her criticisms against the administration, saying she wants the public to see her position clearly.

Duterte said sovereignty is not only lost through foreign invasion but also through corruption within government.

“Every peso that is stolen is pagkawala ng dignidad ng bawat (is a loss to the) people,” she continued.

She added that corruption does not only involve money, but also the loss of opportunity, dignity, hope, and freedom.

Meanwhile, the House of Representatives has impeached Duterte for the second consecutive year on charges including culpable violation of the Constitution, graft and corruption, betrayal of public trust, bribery, and other high crimes.
