THE HAGUE — The International Criminal Court (ICC) Trial Chamber III has released the agenda for the second status conference in the crimes against humanity case against former President Rodrigo Duterte.

In a report, it said that in a four-page document dated June 18, the Chamber outlined several matters to be taken up by the parties during the conference scheduled on Tuesday, June 23, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The items include deadlines for filing observations on the Expert Panel Report, adoption of a protocol on handling confidential information, page limits for the prosecution’s trial brief, scheduling of future status conferences after the judicial recess, and public statements made by counsel.

“The status conference will be public. However, in order to avoid disclosure of sensitive information regarding witness protection and security issues, the Chamber may order the use of private sessions,” it said.

The Chamber noted that the prosecution submitted proposed agenda items following its invitation, while the defense team of former President Rodrigo Duterte and the Registry indicated they had no additional items to raise.

The first status conference was held on May 27, during which the Chamber set the opening of Duterte’s trial for crimes against humanity on November 30, 2026. The case is linked to alleged killings during his presidency and his tenure as Davao City mayor.

The Chamber also ordered a re-examination of Duterte’s fitness to stand trial.

A further status conference is scheduled for July 14, according to the court.
