MANILA – The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen digital transformation and improve public service delivery.
The agreement, signed on July 1 during the PDIC’s 63rd anniversary celebration in Makati City, marks the first collaboration between the two agencies and supports the national government’s digitalization agenda.
Under the agreement, the DICT will provide technical assistance in assessing and improving PDIC’s existing applications and information systems. The partnership also aims to enhance interoperability, synchronization, and integration of the agencies’ digital platforms in line with national ICT standards.
The collaboration will also pave the way for PDIC’s services to be integrated into the eGovPH application, expanding the corporation’s digital reach to nearly 60 million registered users and making its services more accessible to the public.
In addition, the partnership seeks to strengthen PDIC’s cybersecurity measures and support the development of new digital applications to improve the corporation’s operations.
PDIC President and Chief Executive Officer Roberto B. Tan said the initiative is intended to strengthen the agency’s delivery of its mandate through technology, while DICT Undersecretary David Almirol Jr. said the collaboration supports the goal of building a more efficient and citizen-centered government.
The PDIC said the partnership forms part of its continuing efforts to modernize its services, protect depositors, and strengthen public confidence in the Philippine banking system.
