MANILA — The southwest monsoon (habagat) will continue to affect the western section of Luzon, bringing cloudy skies and scattered rains over several areas on Tuesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said the Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon. Moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides.

Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and the Davao Region will also have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the easterlies, with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rainfall.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Pampanga, Tarlac, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, and Oriental Mindoro will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon. PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides remain possible during severe thunderstorms.

Moderate winds from the southwest to southeast will prevail over the western section of Luzon, with moderate coastal waters ranging from 1.2 to 2.1 meters.

The rest of Luzon will have light to moderate winds from the south to southeast, while Visayas and Mindanao will experience light to moderate winds from the south to southwest. Coastal waters in these areas will be slight to moderate, with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 1.5 meters.
