MANILA — A low pressure area (LPA) and the easterlies will bring cloudy skies and rains over parts of Luzon on Thursday, with the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warning of possible flash floods and landslides.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said the LPA was estimated at 3 a.m. over the coastal waters of Nasugbu, Batangas, while the easterlies continue to affect Northern Luzon.

Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, and CALABARZON will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the LPA, with moderate to at times heavy rains that may trigger flash floods or landslides.

Cagayan Valley will also have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies, with similar risks of flooding and landslides.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms. PAGASA warned that severe thunderstorms could also trigger flash floods or landslides in affected areas.

Winds over Mindanao will be light to moderate, blowing from the south to southwest, with slight to moderate coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters.

Southern Luzon and the Visayas will experience light to moderate winds from the southwest to southeast, with slight to moderate seas of 0.6 to 1.8 meters.

The rest of Luzon will have light to moderate winds from the east to southeast, with coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 1.5 meters.

PAGASA recorded a minimum temperature of 24.5°C at 5 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 25.4°C at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Relative humidity ranged from 94% to 95% during the same period.

For Metro Manila, sunrise is at 5:39 a.m., sunset at 6:26 p.m., moonrise at 7:01 p.m., and moonset at 5:57 a.m. The moon’s illumination is at 99%.
