MANILA – Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson rejected what he described as a “ceasefire” offer following his disclosure of alleged irregularities involving infrastructure projects in Taguig City.

In a post on X, Lacson said accepting such an offer was out of the question, describing it as an attempt to buy time after the alleged anomalies were brought to light.

“CEASEFIRE MY FOOT! Anong uri ng tao ang magde-declare ng giyera, toy gun ang dala, at laway ang bala; pag na-confront ng bomba, magre-request ng ceasefire, pabulong pa?” he said on X.

Lacson also said the offer of a “ceasefire” from someone who had “arbitrarily and indiscriminately opened fire without provocation” was “hypocrisy aimed at buying time to recover and reconsolidate for his next sneaky move.”

According to the senator, the supposed peace overture came after he revealed what he described as “damning evidence” of double billing and other alleged irregularities involving slope protection and other infrastructure projects in Taguig City.

He said he and his team had already turned over the evidence to the Office of the Ombudsman and that he intends to present additional details during a Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on flood control projects.

Lacson also reiterated that he is defending his integrity following allegations raised by former Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano regarding the increase in his net worth.

The senator maintained that his wealth was derived from legitimate business activities during the three years he was out of the Senate, adding that integrity remains his most valued possession, which he said he inherited from his parents.
