MANILA – The trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) will continue to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over parts of the Visayas and Mindanao on Friday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said the weather system will affect the Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, Masbate, Sarangani, and South Cotabato.

The state weather bureau warned that moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides in affected areas.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. PAGASA said severe thunderstorms may also cause flash floods or landslides.

Light to moderate winds will prevail over Mindanao and the western section of the Visayas, with coastal waters expected to remain slight to moderate, ranging from 0.6 to 1.5 meters.

Southern Luzon and the rest of the Visayas will likewise experience light to moderate winds, with slight to moderate coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 1.2 meters.

The rest of Luzon will have light to moderate winds, while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate with wave heights of 0.6 to 1.2 meters.
