MANILA – The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) was recognized as one of the most active member-institutions of the Bankers Institute of the Philippines (BAIPHIL) for its contributions to initiatives supporting professional development and strengthening the Philippine banking industry.

The recognition was given during the BAIPHIL Royal Gala: Grand Fellowship and Awards Night held on July 16, 2026, at the Makati Shangri-La.

PDIC has actively participated in and contributed to various BAIPHIL events and programs aimed at promoting professional development, fostering collaboration among banking institutions, and advancing excellence in the banking sector.

Also recognized for his contributions to BAIPHIL activities was PDIC Vice President Jose G. Villaret Jr., who served as chairperson of the BAIPHIL Week Committee and the BAIPHIL Program and Attendance Committee.

In her message during the event, BAIPHIL President Shirley G. Felix, who also serves as vice president and officer-in-charge of the PDIC Receivership and Liquidation Sector, thanked the Institute’s members and institutional partners for their continued support.

Felix highlighted their role in advancing BAIPHIL’s mission of equipping banking professionals with future-ready competencies that promote innovation, sound governance and organizational resilience.

The PDIC and BAIPHIL share advocacies focused on strengthening the Philippine banking sector and continuously improving services to the depositing public.

Both institutions likewise reaffirmed their commitment to promoting a stable, resilient and inclusive banking industry.
