MANILA – The southwest monsoon or Habagat will continue to affect Luzon and the western section of the Visayas, bringing scattered rains and thunderstorms over several areas on Friday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Zambales and Bataan will experience occasional rains due to the southwest monsoon, with possible flash floods or landslides from moderate to heavy rainfall.

Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, the rest of Central Luzon and Antique will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. Moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides.

The rest of Luzon, Aklan and Capiz will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms, with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds from the southwest will prevail over the northern and western sections of Luzon, where coastal waters will be moderate to rough at 2.1 to 2.8 meters.

The rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate southwest winds, with slight to moderate coastal waters at 1.2 to 2.5 meters.

Visayas and Mindanao will have light to moderate winds from the south to southwest, with coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 1.8 meters.

PAGASA recorded a minimum temperature of 25.5°C and a maximum of 27.6°C over Metro Manila during the previous 24-hour period. Relative humidity ranged from 83% to 97%.
